Dr. Yiyi Gao Music Studio Β· Dallas, TX
Imagine your child sitting down at the piano β not because you asked, but because they want to. Playing Chopin one day and their favorite song the next. Walking onto a real stage within months, not years.
That's what happens when a PhD-trained concert pianist builds a curriculum around your child β not a method book.
Dr. Gao personally teaches every student. No assistants, no substitutes. Spots are limited.
The excitement fades. Your child begged for lessons β then dreaded practice three months later.
The method is rigid. Page after page of the same workbook, week after week. No creativity, no choice.
The recitals feel like a chore. Stiff performances in a church basement, not celebrations of real progress.
Every student gets the same approach. Kids who need encouragement get pushed. Kids who need a challenge get bored.
The problem isn't your child's talent or discipline. It's the approach. There's a better way.
One enrollment. No hidden fees. No assistants.
One-on-one instruction tailored to your child's age, level, goals, and musical taste. A custom curriculum built around them β not a method book. Dr. Gao personally teaches every student.
Proper technique rooted in the classical tradition, combined with pop, jazz, and contemporary music they actually want to play. The combination that keeps students engaged for years, not months.
Students perform at Dr. Gao's concerts throughout the year β real stages, real audiences. This builds confidence no amount of bedroom practice can match.
Dr. Gao teaches at her private studio near Preston Tower or comes directly to your home in Park Cities, Preston Hollow, and surrounding areas.
Beyond performance, students learn how music works β chord progressions, song structure, creative composition. Several students have gone on to write their own music.
Meet Dr. Gao, see the studio, experience a real lesson before committing. No pressure, no obligation, no credit card required.
Currently accepting new students for Summer/Fall 2026.
If your child isn't reading music and playing a recognizable piece within their first two months of lessons, the following month is on Dr. Gao.
The only condition: showing up and doing the work between lessons. Students who complete their assignments in the first two months make progress that surprises even them. She's never had to honor this guarantee β and she doesn't expect to start with you.
"I highly recommend Dr. Gao's music lessons. My first lesson I wanted to learn chord patterns so I could write my own music for YouTube. She's very talented at teaching, very patient, and made learning music fun again."
"Yiyi has been the perfect match for our high school daughter. She is always motivated to practice and learn new music. She has improved her confidence and technique. Her energy is unmatched."
"Professor Gao is a professional piano player who inspired her students with a very kind and passionate personality. She plays all styles of music β pop, jazz, and classical."
"Dr. Gao truly cares about all of her students. She finds ways to make her lectures engaging by incorporating lots of different types of music from relatable sources."
